Metal-Air Mechanical Systems Ltd. goes beyond its doors and outreaches to the community in several different ways.
Co-op Education Program
Metal-Air regularly accepts co-op students from various high schools and colleges in the area. These students are provided with the necessary training and work experience in order to achieve their goals before they start work on a full-time basis.
Metal-Air strives to allow co-op students the crucial knowledge and experience they need to make sound educational and career decisions. Furthermore, the Company helps students learn a real appreciation of the importance of workplace skills and safety and the development of a positive attitude toward themselves and their future careers.
Charity of Choice
To further our commitment to giving back, Metal-Air hosts a number of small fundraisers throughout the year. We choose a yearly charitable organization to be the beneficiary of our fundraising initiatives. We welcome the input from our employees to ensure that we choose a charity that is close to their hearts.
Donations / Sponsorships
Employees as well as the employer donate funds which are directly linked to our various graduating students throughout the community. The various scholarships offered to students help support those who are pursuing a career in the trades, those who have achieved high averages throughout their high school years, those who have most improved and our employees’ children are also eligible for a special bursary. Metal-Air believes in supporting the children to further their passions in a post-secondary institute.
Furthermore, Metal-Air supports and sponsors several organizations and/or activities within our community, such as but not limited to: Children’s Community Centre, Easter Seals, Alzheimer's Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Royal Canadian Legion, Greater Sudbury Modelers, Valley East Days, Cambrian College Rick Fedec Holiday Appeal, Special Olympics – Sudbury, as well as various food drives and our local schools.
A food drive is organized on a yearly basis prior to the Holiday season and the employer matches the employees’ contributions, which are all donated to the Sudbury Food Bank.
Metal-Air also sponsors several sports teams throughout the Greater Sudbury area, including but not limited to: Hockey, Basketball, Ringette, Archery and Soccer.
